Ashley is a Professional Development Specialist in North Carolina. She works with secondary teachers who serve urban Title 1 schools and her area of focus is literacy. An
educator for 20 years, Ashley has had the opportunity to present sessions at the local, regional, state, and national levels that focus on topics such as: balanced literacy, instructional coaching, instructional design, assessment development, close reading, writing, blogging, the CCSS and literacy shifts, becoming a connected educator and building a PLN, globalization, professional development differentiation, and intentional integration of ed tech with instruction. She is an Achieve EQuIP Peer Reviewer/ELA Juror, a leader of the North Carolina Google Educator Group (GEG), a member of multiple EdCamp planning teams (EdCamp Leadership NC, EdCampWNC, EdcampQC), a co-founder of CoffeeEduQC, a co-moderator for the #satchat Voxer group, and a certified Symbaloo Edu.
Ashley has also been an Education Support Staff Bammy nominee (2015), a presenter at ISTE 2014 and ISTE 2015, a guest blogger for ISTE Connects and The Teaching Channel, an edWeb webinar developer and facilitator, a featured guest on Pushing the Edge–a podcast produced by Greg Curran, and a Twitter chat guest moderator for #EQuIPchat and #21stedchat.
