Dr. Valerie Hill has 25 years experience in education. She was presented with the Librarian of the Year Award for LISD in 2010 and Texas Computer Education Association Librarian of the Year Finalist in 2007. Along with serving as Ethridge Elementary School Librarian, Dr. Hill is a Professor of Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman’s University. Her interests include all literacy formats (media literacy, digital literacy, transliteracy), human-computer interaction, children’s literature and storytelling. As a National Writing Trainer, Dr. Hill specializes in connecting literature to writing. Her research focus is the innovation of virtual worlds in libraries and education. Specialties include: multi-media production, video-editing, machinima, teaching writing, web 2.0 tools, and immersive learning environments.
